How businesses are planning for the future

A roundtable discussion with Berkley Harmon on employee retention & recruitment during a pandemic

Our next TAP meeting will be slightly different! We will first have our normal opening agenda and then we will have a roundtable discussion with expert Berkley Harmon to answer some of the hard questions that businesses are facing. For example Berkley will address questions like:

  • How are businesses preparing for PPP forgiveness? What are the main concerns surrounding this?

  • What type of challenges are business having with on-boarding new talent, if any?  Are your clients discussing layoffs, hiring, cutting benefits, reinstating salaries, etc?

  • How do you get a feel for the integrity of the recruit on a video call as opposed to in person interview?

  • What are the projected outcomes of the election based on which party wins?

  1. What changes are businesses now making that will remain after an effective Covid-19 vaccine has been administered (i.e., permanent changes that would not have been made but for Covid-19).

  2. Which small business models lend themselves to working remotely rather than from a traditional “office” or central business location.

  3. Working remotely has been the norm due to the pandemic. However:

    • Can it be sustained indefinitely?

    • What is the long range impact on the psyche of the employee.

    • How does a small business monitor the work efforts of employees working remotely?

    • Are employees really more productive?

    • What are the challenges in an environment without in-person collaboration? Is zoom or other technology as effective?
